How to check if the website is secure with simple steps.

The web has evolved over the years.

People are increasingly becoming security conscious these days.

The number of people doing their online shopping or banking through the internet has increased significantly in recent years.

With technology advancements, it has become easy for people to implement their own security measures in these tasks which were otherwise very difficult earlier.

The web has become a platform for signing up for many scams, such as phishing, identity theft, and fraud.

However, there are still some potential risks when it comes to signing in to a website or making other transactions over the Internet.

The web has evolved over the years. In this post, we explain how to check if a website is secure and not hacked by hackers, or other threats.

So, How can you tell if a website is secure?

URL Scanners-

PhishTank-

It is a global phishing database, where you can submit, verify or share about phishing attacks. It holds a huge database of websites that indulge in phishing & thus provides you a platform to test any suspicious links and decide which website is safe to browse.

PhishTank offers an open API for programmers and academic researchers to incorporate anti-phishing information into existing solutions.

IPQualityScore-

It is a website where you can find a bunch of scanners for Email Validation, IP Validation, whether IP is VPN based or not, and many more.

Its malicious URL scanner checks suspicious links by using a mixture of backlist and deep machine learning.

URLVoid-

It can analyze a website URL through 30+ blocklist engines. This identification involves malware and phishing detection.

Google Transparency Report-

Google Transparency Report is one of the reliable URL scanning services for finding embedded malicious infections.

Google’s Safe Browsing technology examines billions of URLs per day looking for unsafe websites. When Google detects unsafe sites, Google also shows us warnings on Google Search and in web browsers.

VirusTotal-

It is one of my favorite website which scans and analyze any doubtful files or IP address to detect different types of malware. It provides detailed reports about malicious files, blacklisted status, external links detected, and much more.

Website Warnings-

A website with site warnings informs the users that this website contains malware, phishing, scams or it is not secure.

Is not Aesthetically pleasing-

When visiting a website as a user you can know that is this website is trustworthy or not. If a website looks like the branding looks poorly designed, low-quality photography, mismatched colors, ugly fonts, and excessive drop shadows are a sign that this site can not be trusted.

It's really easy to know because someone having a website will never use these kinds of things as that website represents their brand to the world.

Spelling and Grammar mistakes-

A website owner will never miss these kinds of things but someone who is going to scam others will not give time to spelling and grammar.

Social Media Channels-

Businesses have active social media channels that they will use for promotion and will post regular, non-offending, and legitimate content.

So these are some steps by which you can check whether a website is trustworthy or not.

Conclusion

Wait, did you know that your favorite sites can hurt your computer?

So next time before visiting any site just check wheather is it trustworthy or not.

So that is it for this article.

I will meet in another blog with another topic.

Till then,

Stay Safe.
